The story and meaning behind our farm’s name: Healing Poem Farm is inspired by farmer Bari’s Grandma Lila and her legacy of healing through poetry therapy as Creative and Social Director at the AIDS Day Treatment Program on West Twentieth Street in New York City for 18 years from the early 1980s until 2000. Beyond the work I love to do at Healing Poem Farm, I am passionate about supporting other farmers. Since 2017, I have been participated on various committees and Boards dedicated to doing just that. Along the way, I have connected with friends and mentors, visited new places, learned more than I could have anticipated, and contributed to positive change.
