I tried it and it works without any problems here (btw, /F=PW doesn't have much sense - it's the same as /F=W). So, are you sure you pass the right file to the scanner? Wasn't the eicar test string simply embedded in the e-mail body (as text)?

Anti-Virus,' click the Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair, click next and follow. You need to be on-line to do this.
