But if you want a poisonous arrow there's better choices than solid mercury. Just a piece of regular water ice with one of a hundred different poisons would do.

2021年5月8日 · Mercury has to be below about -40 (C or F) to freeze. That's damn cold so you see it has a layer of ice/frost on it (frozen out of the air) before he dunks it. Then as it warms in the water, the mercury would liquefy as soon as the lump warms to -40, but then the ice shell has to warm all the way up to zero C before melting, which happens later.
