2010年5月16日 · At a glance, the coloration and pattern is close enough, that a lot of people will mistake these for a non-venomous Banded Water Snake, and vice-versa. Regardless of popular belief, these are actually not aggressive snakes even though they are venomous.

2024年8月12日 · No kings, corns, or coachwhips at all here. I haven't saw a spreading adder in about 35 years. The toadfrogs disappeared, and so did the spreading adders. We have loads of black rat snakes, northern water snakes, garters, Dekay's, and queen snakes. Copperheads are declining, along with rattlesnakes. Milk snakes almost gone.

2008年5月10日 · I have done it several times, but with snake hides you don't even need that much oil because they are so thin. Only down side, like many other oil tanned products, is the oil will wash out if it gets wet. That is why some (I know, not chromium sulfate tan) leathers, like boots, get dry and cracked, the water washes out the oils.

Just to be sure, I did a quick post-mortem and looked as his fangs. Last time I checked, Banded Water Snakes lacked fangs. Plenty of teeth, but no fangs.

2006年8月11日 · A snake will hardly waste its time trying to bite an animal it wont eat. Most of the time there is mostly hissing and flashy threats; no bites. I did have a hound that actually got popped by a rattler. I think it got bit because it had its mind more on rabbits than listening to the snakes warning. I was actually bitten by a large oak snake myself.

2012年7月27日 · The traditional Santee rig uses the slinky/snake weight which will roll around and drag the bottom when fished in current when you are trying to fish stationary! I use the Santee rig snake/slinky weight when drifting! If you are ever on Oconee give me a shout and I'll show both rigs to you, SOS showed a great example of the rig I also use!
