Aranesp ® is a prescription medicine used to treat a lower than normal number of red blood cells (anemia) caused by chronic kidney disease in patients on dialysis and not on dialysis.
If you are prescribed a full dose of Aranesp, you will inject all of the medicine from your prefilled syringe. For a full dose, go directly to Step 3, and choose between the Subcutaneous or Port injection based on your healthcare provider’s instructions.

Aranesp should be administered by the subcutaneous route to patients with anaemia (e.g. haemoglobin concentration ≤10 g/dl (6.2 mmol/l)) in order to increase haemoglobin to not greater than 12 g/dl (7.5 mmol/l).
Aranesp is available in packs of 1 or 4 pre-filled syringes. The syringes are provided either with (1- and 4-pack) or without (1-pack) a blister-wrapping. Not all pack sizes may be marketed.
